The Premier League management body has announced the winner of the Castrol award of the season, given to the goalkeeper with the best save of the season.
Everton’s Jordan Pickford won the award following his save from Cesar Azpilicueta in the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The winner was announced on the official website of the Premier League on Saturday, May 28th, 2022.

It was a save of added significance as it moved the 18th-placed Toffees two points from safety as they ultimately went on to avoid relegation. Pickford won the award after receiving the most combined votes from the public and a panel of football experts.
